Public Permutation
2024
Performance, printed booklets, aluminium objects with tape

‘Public Permutation’ is a choreography in which a spectator moves three objects between four designated positions in the exhibition space. The act follows an instruction depending on the starting position of the three objects. The complete choreography consists of 24 unique scripts, sequentially recorded in an instruction booklet. The meaning of the title, ‘Public Permutation’, is twofold. It literally means ‘public shift’ and refers both to the public moving objects and to a shift in the role of the public in function of this work.
